Many of us have teeth that aren’t straight or are placed in the wrong place in our mouths. This could be a problem because it makes you feel bad about yourself and can lead to health problems in the future. In the past, braces were a simple way to solve this problem. With Invisalign, there is now a new way to fix this.

The problem is that many people feel even worse about themselves when they wear braces. Metal wires make traditional braces, which can be very noticeable. People like us feel embarrassed when we have to wear them, especially if we need them later in life.

But a great alternative to braces is getting a lot of attention these days. Invisible Orthodontic Aligners are  just like braces in that it helps straighten your teeth, but instead of metal brackets, it uses clear plastic retainers. When you do this, it doesn’t look like you have braces. It can’t be seen. So, you can straighten your teeth without having to feel self-conscious about wearing metal braces.

Keep Your Aligners In As Much As You Can

The first tip is straightforward: keep your Invisalign aligners as long as you can each day. This is the best way to get results quickly and the only way to get results at all. At Dok Dentist of Kellar, we always tell patients that for the first 48 hours, they should keep their aligners in for almost the whole day. Here is where they do most of their work and get you used to feel them. He says you shouldn’t take them out unless you need to eat, drink, or brush your teeth.

Even after the first two days are up, you should keep them as much as possible—at least 22 hours per day. The longer you wear them, the better your teeth will be. Also, if you keep them on, you’ll notice them less and less. After a while, it will feel like you have nothing on your teeth so you won’t feel any pain.

You’ll Have To Change The Way You Talk

One of the few bad things about Invisalign is that it can make it hard to talk. You will have a bit of a lisp when you first put them on. It would help if you got ready for this, so it doesn’t surprise you much when you talk. You can’t stop this from happening; it’s a natural response to having these things in your mouth.

But it’s important to remember that you won’t lisp the whole time you wear them. It will only be for a few days as you get used to the new situation. Could you not take them out to talk to people? Practice makes perfect, so keep them in. If you keep taking them out, you’ll have trouble talking when you put them back in. So it makes more sense to get ready for the lisp and get over it as you wear them.

Each Person’s Invisalign Treatment Takes A Different Amount Of Time

You should probably know how long your Invisalign treatment will last before you start it. Most adults can expect it to last about a year. This depends, of course, on how bad your teeth are and how much work needs to be done. If your teeth are slightly out of place or only one or two are, it might not last more than a few months. In the same way, it can last longer if your teeth aren’t in great shape.

Don’t worry, our orthodontists will talk to you about everything at your Invisalign consultation. He will look at your teeth and explain everything to you so you know roughly how long it should last for you.

You Get Results Quicker Than With Metal Braces

One great thing about Invisalign is that you can see results quickly. Most people don’t see them for a few months. But this only happens if you go back to point #1 and wear your aligners daily for as long as possible.

You wear a set of clear trays that have already been set up for you. Every two weeks, you switch them out for a new set of aligners that help move your new smile into place.

Remember To Floss

When you go to the dentist, they tell you to floss daily. Do you do it? I think we can all agree that hardly anyone flosses every day. We don’t do it because it seems like a chore and we’re not used to it. With Invisalign, you need to keep your teeth and gums as clean as possible, so flossing is more important than ever. If you don’t floss, food, plaque, and other things can get stuck between your teeth. This is a problem because then it can get on your aligners. So, this could get stuck in the aligners, making them not fit as well as they should on your teeth. This causes pain, which is something no one wants.
